Sunday 23rd September 2007 Marat was there to support his fellow Russians as they won through to the Final of Davis Cup. Russia will play the USA in the US in late November.

Davis Cup certainly brings the best out in Mikhail Youzhny, and today was no exception. In a titanic battle, the Russia overcame French No. 1 Richard Gasquet 62 63 67(8) 57 86 in four hours and 48 minutes to draw Russia level at the end of the opening day of this Quarterfinal tie.
Earlier Paul-Henri Mathieu (FRA) surprised Nikolay Davydenko (RUS) 26 62 61 75.
